Minorities and Dalit Children away from Education

  • Children away from education take out rally, give memorandum to ADM City
  • 450 Children of dalit and minorities deprived of education

Agra. Despite claims of the State Government about education of minority and dalit children, the reality is quite contrary to this. Nearly 450 dalit and Muslim children from deprived communities residing in the city are miles away from Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan. Both district administration and education department are not paying attention towards this. Parents too are concerned over education deprivation of these children. The parents are forced to send these children to private schools despite their poverty.

So far several governments have ocme and gone, but none has paid any attention towards education of dalit and minority children. Because of such arrangement, these children are away from education. The Government is spending crores of rupees on Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, but is not paying any attention towards these children. As a result, 450 dalit and Muslim children are miles away from Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan.

Manavadhikar Seva Sansthan is running a campaign for the past two years to make education available to these children under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, but because of departmental negligence these children have not been able to link with the mainstream of education.

Today Manavadhikar Seva Sansthan brought out a rally of the children, who handed over a memorandum to the ADM City Rajiv Rautela. The memorandum demaded to link 450 children with mainstream of Sarva Shiksha Sansthan. Those who handed over the memorandum included Rekha, Poonam Sharma, Sona Devi, Pushpa, Kalpana Kumari, Sonu, etc.
