Objectives

• To give the children of sex workers a rightful childhood
• To provide care, emotional and psychological support to children of sex workers
• To create an enabling environment for better education, nutrition and standard of living

Activities

• Strengthen the current hostel facility located at Pali town of Raigad district
• Expansion of the hostel facility
• Recruitment of trained staff

Achievements

The children are being provided education, food and health services at the hostel to develop good habits amongst them.

Several positive changes are visible among these children. Initially these children had habits like stealing, abusing, quarrelling, fighting, etc., but because of good motivation, they have totally stopped. Many good habits and discipline have been cultivated among them. Earlier these children used to be very dirty and were not ready to take daily bath, their own work, and were not self-disciplined. Because of hostel rules and discipline these children are doing most of their own work, like to wash their glass and dish, taking their own bath and keeping themselves clean and tidy. Earlier they used to frequently lie and were weak in studies. Many students were not even able to read and write. Now they can read and write very well. Tremendous change is visible amongst them; those who were considered very poor in studies are not getting first rank in studies. Two of the girls from hostel have got first place at Taluka level examination and at district level examination. They were honoured by the gram panchayat at village level.
